Thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery
Endocrine surgery is one of Dr Esh's three core specialty areas, alongside upper GI and weight loss surgery. It deals with the glands that regulate a lot of how your body works, and problems here often need a specialist's judgement on whether surgery is the right step and when.
Thyroid
Surgery on the thyroid gland (in the neck) may be needed for lumps, overactivity or suspected cancer. Dr Esh will explain whether an operation is warranted, what's involved and what recovery looks like.
Parathyroid
The parathyroid glands control calcium levels. When they overwork, surgery is often the fix. Dr Esh assesses whether that's what's driving your symptoms and talks you through the options.
Adrenal
The adrenal glands sit above the kidneys. Some adrenal conditions need surgical removal of a gland, usually done keyhole. Dr Esh handles these cases as part of his endocrine work.
